Youth are the driving force of any society. They are the groups that have the power, ability and eagerness to shoulder new responsibilities and thus, inject new blood into their societies. Moreover, youth are open and willing to participate and contribute in a number of civic activities and implement new alternatives. However, many obstacles hinder youth active participation and mobilization in Morocco; many youth’s aspirations ,hopes and dreams are particularly sapped and undermined by poverty, unemployment, and the deteriorating public education .
Youth poverty is alarming and critical in Morocco and still curbs youth enthusiasm and their active contribution to the development of their society. It is urgent and imperious that the Government should introduce new approaches to fight or at least alleviate poverty among young people, by creating student loans and raising government funding for education , and equipping schools with computers and the internet;as this latter is increasingly being used to improve access to education and employment opportunities, which supports efforts to eradicate poverty.
Another important factor that hampers youth substantial participation and involvement in the development of their society is unemployment. It is,in fact, a revolting and bitter phenomenon that has devastating adverse impacts on youth. The fact that pushes youth to resort to illegal and pernicious habits such as drugs, crimes ... . In order to empower our youth ,toimprove their lives, and to bridge the existing inequalities and divisions,it is imperative that we should take courageous measures to reform the deteriorating public education and our economy to offer job opportunities to young peopleand thus engage them consciously and successfully in the development our country is experiencing.
The deteriorating public education remains as an obstacle in front of the full and active involvement of our young people in the development of our country.
The aim of modern education today is to form informed, responsible, and contributing citizens .However, these days,we see only more students out on the street, drifting from café to café,hopleless and powerless. The fact that necessitates that we introduce new reforms to our public education that will enable students to live, learn, and work successfully in an increasingly complex and information-rich society.
To sum up,by combating poverty and unemployment, and reforming the public education,we will have set up a positive atmosphere where youth can fully and effectively participate in the consolidation and development of our society
