The L5535 uses the L5035 mechanics with a new electronics system. This electronics upgrade includes a new power supply, new controller with flash memory that allows the printer to be PRINTRONIX System Architecture (PSA™) software compatible with the other Printronix printers, allows PrintNet option and offers a 15% to 20% improvement in performance in certain applications that do not run at the rated speed of the L5035. The rated speed remains the same for general operation. We offer an upgrade for the L5035 printers that can be ordered by your customers through the sales channels. The upgrade consists of a new card enclosure (uniquely identified by it’s black color -vs- the silver metal color of the standard L5035) that contains a new power supply, new back panel and new controller. This upgrade gives the L5035 the same connectivity and software functionality as the L5535. The L5035/L5535 Multifunctional Page Printers combine both continuous forms and cut sheet operation, in a single, high duty cycle printer. Printing speeds up to 35 ppm for 8.5 inch page length, which is equivalent to 4.87 inches per second (ips) or 1750 lines/min [6 lines per 25.4 mm (1/6 in / line)] or 2327 lines/min [8 lines per 25.4 mm (1/8 in / line)]. Cut sheet stock in the Lower Cassette prints up to 27 ppm, +/- 2%, for A4 paper size. The cut sheet stock in the Upper Cassette prints up to 23ppm and 15.3ppm, +/- 2%, for A4 and A3 paper size, respectively. Paper type can be selected by software control or from the printer’s control panel. For exceptional, high durable print quality, the L5035/L5535 uses a unique fusing system, DuraFusion. This system uses a dual-lamp flash fusing process which provides superior toner adhesion and print quality. Also, the electrostatic transport system eliminates tenting to maintain high quality images even near fold perforations. Utilizing the PRINTRONIX System Architecture (PSA™), the emulation switching functionality in the L5535 is the same as the P5000 series line matrix and the T5000 thermal printers. The L5535 uses combo builds (several emulations) with various PGL/VGL/PCL5 combinations loaded at the same time.
