2005 ASHRAE Handbook - Fundamentals
The 2005 volume of the ASHRAE Handbook covers basic principles and provides essential data for HVAC&R design. In all, the Fundamentals volume includes more than 1,000 pages and 40 chapters on a variety of HVAC&R topics, covering general engineering information, basic materials, load and energy calculations and duct and pipe design.
The Handbook gives you the information to:
• Understand the fundamental principles you need to know about thermodynamics and refrigeration cycles.
•Know the answers to your clients’ questions about air quality and comfort issues.
•Find the data you need about materials used in your job, including refrigerants, fuels, insulation, and other building materials.
•Get up-to-date guidance on best practices for heating and cooling load calculations ventilation, energy use, system design, and controls.
•Ensure that your designs are based on the latest ASHRAE climatic design data.
The Fundamentals volume includes chapters dealing with theory, general engineering data, basic materials, load and energy calculations, duct and pipe fitting and more. Fundamentals features general reference tables for abbreviations and symbols, I-P to SI conversions, and physical properties of materials. Chapter 28, Climatic Design Information, contains information for 4,422 sites, an increase of some 3,000 sites over earlier volumes. Due to the amount of data, it is included on a CD accompanying the book, and now includes monthly data for stations around the world.
The volume also contains a new chapter, Chapter 26, Insulation for Mechanical Systems, which discusses thermal and acoustical insulation for mechanical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities او | |
